National News: The shocking death of 26-year-old Hyderabad student Chandrashekar Pole has sent waves of grief across his hometown. Pole was shot by an unidentified gunman at a Dallas gas station where he worked part-time. He had moved to the United States in 2023 for higher studies and recently completed his master’s degree. His sudden death has left his family shattered and the community in deep sorrow.
Chandrashekar Pole had high aspirations for his future. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery (BDS), he left for Dallas to pursue further education. Six months ago, he finished his master’s degree and was actively looking for full-time employment. To support himself, he was working part-time at the gas station where tragedy struck. His family says they had hoped to see him excel in life, but fate took a cruel turn.
BRS MLA T Harish Rao personally met the grieving family in Hyderabad. He expressed his deep condolences, describing their pain as "unbearable." Rao said parents who believed their son would achieve greatness are now left in grief. He assured them that his party will stand by the family during this difficult time. He also appealed to the Telangana government to immediately arrange for Pole’s mortal remains to be brought back home.
News of Chandrashekar’s killing has left the community in disbelief. Friends, relatives, and neighbors gathered at his home to console the family. Many said that young students go abroad with hopes of success, but rising incidents of shootings are a constant worry. Social media is also filled with tributes for Chandrashekar, remembering him as a bright, hardworking, and humble student who had big dreams for the future.
According to reports from the United States, the Dallas police have begun an investigation into the case. The attacker has not yet been identified, and officials are gathering CCTV footage for clues. The shooting happened late on Friday night, and local residents have been urged to remain alert. Police have also said they will make every effort to catch the culprit soon and deliver justice to the victim’s family.
This incident has once again raised concerns about the safety of Indian students in the United States. Families back home are worried about sending their children abroad for studies and jobs. Indian associations in Dallas have already reached out to the local police and the Indian consulate to ensure justice is delivered. Many believe the government must take stronger steps to protect students studying abroad.
Chandrashekar’s family has made a heartfelt appeal to the Telangana government to bring his body back quickly. They said they want to perform his last rites in their hometown. MLA Harish Rao has promised all possible help in coordinating with the state government. The family hopes that justice will be served and that other students abroad will not have to suffer the same tragic fate.
